Floral Letters

I can't believe in roughly 3 months Logan will be turning 1. Where does the time go!? I feel like we just brought her home from the hospital a couple months ago. =[ Anyways, I'm seriously feeling the pressure; I meet a couple of my mommy girlfriends for Saturday breakfast every couple weeks and they're already planning their little one's birthday parties! Which, I'm not complaining, I love planning and I LOVE decorating for events and parties. So I've created my Pinterest board for Logan's 1st birthday and I'm going down my checklist of things to do.

First on my list was floral lettering. I've seen it all over Pinterest and Instagram and knew that I had to have one, but when I stumbled across a pin for a DIY floral letter, I was in! The tutorial just had pictures so I'll do my best to explain my plan of attack!

I bought my flowers from the dollar store. I picked pastels, light yellow, peach, white and pink. I got 6 little bundles and had just enough to finish the 'L'. The 'L' measures out to about 6 inches tall by 4 inches long.

I cut my cardboard shape out of an empty diaper box we had in the garage. Use an exacto-knife, I wanted to pull my hair out when I started cutting it out with scissors. =]

I used a hot glue gun to glue the flowers to the cardboard. I clustered the flowers tightly together because I didn't want any of the cardboard showing. I'm sure you could cluster them looser and it would look great as well!

I started at the top and quickly realized that I should be keeping the flowers upright at possible, and not gluing them on their side, so towards the end I filled in the bare looking spots with more flowers. =]

SO cute! I absolutely LOVE how it turned out! Good luck and let me know how yours turn out! =]
