Detox Water - Fat Flush

It's always a good idea to do a good detox now and then to flush all the yucky stuff out of your body. Detoxes are also great if you're trying to break that sweet tooth you have on a daily basis. =] It's important to make detox waters and teas at home, a lot of times you don't know what added extras are being put in the store bought detox drinks and it's always best to go fresh, homemade.

Lemons aid in the proper absorption of sugar and calcium. It will help you cut your sweet cravings down. Limes and mint promote a healthy digestive tract. Mint will also naturally suppress your appetite. Cucumbers are amazing for flushing out fat cells as it acts as a natural diuretic.

You'll Need:

  • 4 Thin Slices of Cucumber
  • 1 Whole Lemon, squeezed
  • 1 Lime, squeezed
  • 1/2 TBS Grated Ginger
  • 4 Mint Leaves
  • 1/2 TBS Honey or Agave Nectar

Directions:

First squeeze your lemon and lime into the container you'll be using for your detox water. *helpful tip, if you roll the lemon and lime on the counter or a hard surface, pushing down firmly with your palm, you'll get more juice out of your lemon.

Next grate your ginger and at it to your glass. Add your thinly sliced cucumber and mint leaves, and then fill up the rest of your glass with water. Top with honey or agave nectar and stir or shake.

I make mine at night and let it marinate in the fridge overnight. It's super cold in the morning and then I can just grab it and go.
